SOCIAL SECURITYSukhipur municipality has started distributing social security allowance along with relief supplies to the residents of its area, facing problems due to lockdown, at their door steps. The municipality identified daily wagers and poor families of ward no 9 and started distributing foodstuffs as relief and social security allowance at the door step of the people. 
Mayor Ram Abatar Yadav said they have started distributing relief materials to poor families, hit hard due to lockdown imposed for the prevention and control of coronavirus infection. This is being done based on a criteria. He added that 300 poor families of Sukhipur municipality-9 have been provided with 30 kg rice and five kg pulse each as relief support. They have set a target to distribute food stuffs worth Rs 500,000 in each ward of the municipality.
The mayor said they have also started distributing social security allowance at the door step of the senior citizens, single women, persons with disability as there was no situation to visit office for the same due to lockdown. Similarly, Bariyarpatti rural municipality of Siraha has also started distributing relief to poor families. Chairperson of the rural municipality, Santosh Kumar Mahato, shared that they have started distributing 25 kg rice, three kg pulse, two packets of salt, two kg sugar, two litres of cooking oil, bath soap to each family based on the details of poor and daily wagers received from the ward.
Meanwhile, a special patrol team of Division Forest Office, Lahan, arrested a timber smuggler on Monday evening while smuggling timber from the community forest. The arrested is Okil Miya, 58, of Lahan municipality-17. Further, investigation into the incident is underway.
