The government is to give a public holiday during the lockdown period. A notification issued by the government through the Nepal Gazette states that the lockdown time announced on March 22 and on various dates after that is public holiday as per the Clause 2 of the Communicable Diseases Act, 2020 BS. 

“The chief of the offices concerned are required to decide to maintain the period during which all government offices, bodies or industries gave a holiday, in accordance with the order issued on March 22 and various dates after that, in the case of employees or workers with the salary and allowances they are entitled to, as a public holiday,” the notice in the Nepal Gazettee reads.
