Nepal Airlines Repays Loan for Aircraft Purchase, Plans to Expand Services, and Promotes Tourism

KATHMANDU

Nepal Airlines has made the repayment of the loan taken from the Employee Provident Fund and Citizen Investment Fund for the purchase of aircraft.

According to the spokesperson of the corporation, Ramesh Poudel, a total of Rs. 53,955,281 has been paid for the installment of two narrow-body and two wide-body aircraft, with the installment for the two narrow-body aircraft being fully paid in the month of Ashoj, 2080, and a partial payment of Rs. 53,955,281 for the two wide-body aircraft, as mentioned in the notice.

As per him, the corporation has paid a total of Rs. 3,777,382,125 in the period from Ashar 2079 to Ashar 2080. He further informed that with the improvement in the corporation’s revenue compared to the previous year and the improvement in cash flow, various expenses, including major engine maintenance, regular and occasional maintenance of the aircraft, as well as the old debts in various institutions, have been paid regularly from their own sources.

The corporation has also informed us that three small aircraft for remote areas are in the final stage of the procurement process in accordance with internal sources, along with the plan to expand services in Nepal’s remote areas and promote tourism. The presence of the corporation has gained confidence in maintaining a balanced fare rate.
