Now, new notes for Dashain are available to the general public

KATHMANDU

The general public will be able to buy new notes for Dashain starting Monday.

The general public within the Kathmandu Valley can buy new notes through the Currency Management Department of Nepal Rastra Bank and the branches of commercial banks that have obtained permission letters from Nepal Rastra Bank.

Similarly, the general public outside the valley can buy notes from the regional offices of Nepal Rastra Bank or the offices designated by commercial banks. The Nepal Rastra Bank has informed us that the maximum limit for selling notes is Rs. 18,500.

Nepal Rastra Bank will distribute new notes to the general public, banks, and financial institutions through its offices. Additionally, banks have informed us that bundles of Rs. 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 denominations will be available, totaling Rs. 18,500. Similarly, banks and financial institutions will provide extended services to the general public during the designated time.
