An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers held this morning has decided to provide free medical treatment in all the hospitals for those injured in Friday night’s earthquake in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim.
Minister of Health and Population Mohan Bahadur Basnet told journalists that the rescue of the quake survivors has been almost complete, and all hospitals, including those in Kathmandu, are on standby to provide treatment to the needy. The government will bear the cost of the treatment of the injured in the earthquake.
He also shared that a decision was taken to move ahead with the post-quake relief and rehabilitation work, learning from the lessons of the Gorkha earthquake. Furthermore, decisions on which areas to receive assistance from neighbors and friendly countries will be made after further discussion on the matter.
