Two women, along with fake notes, have been arrested in Kathmandu. The police arrested the two women on Monday night based on information that they were involved in the business of counterfeit notes.

According to the police, Sindhupalchok’s 49-year-old Sirjana Thapa, who lives in Kotha on rent in Shankharapur Municipality-7, and 41-year-old Maiya Kumari Ghimire, who lives in Kapn of Budhanilkantha Municipality-12, Okhaldhunga, have been arrested. The police have seized fake notes worth Rs 140,000 from Sirjana and Rs 21,000 from Maiya. According to the police, Sirjana was arrested by a team of Shankharapur-7 Kolagal, and Maiya was arrested by a team of Budhanilkantha-12 Nilomai Micro Park.

The police have informed us that further investigation is underway against both of the arrested women.
