Jyoti Development Bank Reports a 24.40% Decrease in Own Profit for the Third Quarter

Jyoti Development Bank’s own profit has decreased. According to the unaudited financial statement for the third quarter of the current fiscal year, the bank’s own profit has decreased by 24.40 percent.

In the last nine months (from Shrawan to Chaitra), the bank has earned a total of 15 crores and 24 lakhs in own profit. Whereas in the same period of the previous fiscal year, the bank had earned 20 crores and 16 lakhs in its own profit.

During the review period, the bank’s own interest income has increased by 1.75 percent, while the bank’s total operating income has increased by 1.54 percent. Despite the increase in own interest income, the bank’s own profit has decreased due to the increase in impairment charges. In this period, the bank’s impairment charge has increased from 71 crores to 83 crores. In the last nine months, the bank’s non-performing loans have increased from 3.89 percent to 4.97 percent.

During this period, the bank’s distributable profit remained negative at 28 crores (66 lakhs). Similarly, during the review period, the bank’s earnings per share (EPS) also decreased along with the bank’s own profit. So, in this period, the bank’s EPS has decreased from Rs. 1.59 to Rs. 4.62. The bank’s net worth per share is Rs. 134.20 in this period.
