Kathmandu. The problem with the eSewa wallet system has been seen three times in a week. From December 21 to December 26 (December 22), there were three glitches in eSewa wallet.

For the first time this week, the problem was seen in eSewa on December 6 (Saturday). On Saturday, there were problems like no payment through eSewa, not showing the money even after payment, and no QR scan. After widespread complaints from customers, eSewa had issued a notice on social network Facebook stating that since FonePay is working on disaster recovery drill, all services of FonePay and QR payment of eSewa temporarily will not be available.

After this, the problem was seen again on December 8 (Monday). At that time too, eSewa had made public a notice on social networks informing that various services of eSewa have been temporarily suspended due to technical reasons.

The problem was seen again on December 26 (Thursday) in eSewa. On Thursday, there was a problem of no transaction in eSewa, not showing the money and various options not working. Soon after, eSewa again withdrew citing technical reasons for the service outage. Esewa has shared the information on Facebook that the services have been temporarily suspended due to technical difficulties. The e-sewa has also apologized for the inconvenience caused to the customers due to the service interruption.

The users of e-sewa are suffering due to the lack of adequate regulation even after issuing a license by the Nepal Rastra Bank. In addition, eSewa users have not only been troubled after three problems were reported in eSewa this week but have also demanded to declare it problematic like Karnali Development Bank.

Such problems have been seen many times in the past. However, every time, eSewa has been avoiding it citing technical problems. Some time ago, the issue of malware attack on eSewa was also revealed. Is there a big problem in eSewa after the problem is seen in the eSewa wallet and the bank accounts linked to the eSewa? This question has become serious. In this way, the repeated problems in the system and the news of malware attacks from time to time have further strengthened the suspicion that millions of rupees of eSewa users are at risk.
