Citizens Bank Emphasizes Leadership Development and Performance

Kathmandu. Amidst the intense competition in the banking sector, the increasing use of technology and the changing needs of customers, the role of institutional leadership, effective performance and regional coordination has become increasingly important. Keeping this in mind, Citizens Bank International Limited has organized a special leadership development program titled ‘Leadership for Transformation in Lumbini: A Seminar on Driving Performance and Regional Excellence’ in Lumbini Province.

The seminar was attended by the bank’s provincial chiefs, cluster heads, branch managers and colleagues from various departments.

Chief Executive Officer of the bank Mr. Ganesh Raj Pokharel, Deputy CEO and senior management team were present on the occasion. The participants reviewed the achievements of the last fiscal year and held interactive discussions on the strategic priorities of the current fiscal year, business expansion, service quality enhancement and making the cooperation between the province and central offices more effective.

According to the bank, such programs related to leadership development will strengthen knowledge sharing, experience sharing and commitment to common goals within the organization. The event is a continuation of similar leadership seminars organized in other provinces in the past.

According to the bank, the bank has been achieving significant improvement in its institutional performance in recent years along with the expansion of the business. As of Ashad end of the fiscal year 2081/82, the bank has achieved double-digit growth in major financial indicators including loan, deposit and net interest income. In addition, the bank has achieved significant success in reducing cost of funds, improving base rate and making credit risk management more effective.

The bank has been continuously innovating digital banking services to meet the changing needs of customers. Recently, the bank has introduced Citizens FonePay Credit Card (Virtual Credit Card) for the first time in Nepal. Similarly, innovative services such as freelancer savings account, share application (C-ASBA) and CRN number service from mobile banking app, as well as cross bank teller QR service have also been made available to customers.

According to the bank, technology-based banking solutions along with strengthening the leadership skills and corporate culture of the employees is the key to long-term success. In line with this objective, programmes related to leadership development and performance enhancement have been regularly conducted in various provinces.

Currently, Citizens Bank International Limited has been providing banking services and facilities to more than 1.934 lakh customers through a network of 200 branches, 169 ATMs, 3 extension counters and 74 branchless banking units spread across 61 districts of the country. Expanded service network, digital innovation and able leadership led the bank is marching ahead with the vision to maintain quality service and long-term institutional excellence in the banking sector of Nepal.
