Keeping this need in mind, Citizens Bank International Limited has launched ‘Citizen Gen-G Savings Account’ targeting youths.
This special saving account is designed especially for students, freelancers, content creators, startups, entrepreneurs or youngsters having initiated on digital platforms. Designed keeping in mind the thinking, lifestyle and digital behavior of the new generation, the bank believes that this saving account will simplify the modern banking experience.
Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Mr. Ganesh Raj Pokharel, inaugurated the Citizens Gen-G Savings Account amid a program held at the bank’s corporate office in Kathmandu. Speaking at the event, the bank said that the banking of the future is linked to the needs of the youth and technology-friendly services.
One of the main attractions of this savings account is a minimum of Rs. There is a facility to operate an account from Rs. 100. The bank will provide an interest rate of 3.02 percent per annum. In addition, new customers will be provided with services like cheque book, Demat account, C-ASWA registration and C-ASWA commission for the first year.
The bank has also brought a special bundled digital package to further promote digital banking. The customer will get all four services including ATM card, mobile banking, e-com card and internet banking at the same time. They can get complete digital services at Rs 500. According to the bank, it will provide a complete digital banking experience to young customers at a low cost. The account also comes with attractive features like 50% discount on travel card issuance fees, special Gen-Z dashboard within mobile banking, and 25% cashback on the first mobile top-up. The bank believes that these features will make daily financial activities of the digital generation more seamless and efficient.
Over the years, Citizens Bank has been continuously innovating technology-friendly banking services. Earlier, the bank had launched ‘Citizens FonePay Credit Card’ (Virtual Credit Card) in collaboration with FonePay for the first time in Nepal. Similarly, a special ‘Freelancer Savings Account’ for freelancers, share application (C-ASBA) and CRN number service from mobile banking app, as well as cross bank teller QR service has also been started.
As per the bank’s strategy to expand digital banking, the bank has been developing new services as per the needs of the customers. The bank aims to connect the younger generation to the formal financial system by making the use of technology simple, secure and accessible to all.
Currently, Citizens Bank International Limited has been providing banking services and facilities to more than 1,954,000 customers through a network of 200 branches, 169 ATMs, 3 extension counters and 42 branchless banking units spread across 61 districts of the country.
