Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) has remanded former Energy Minister Deepak Khadka to judicial custody. A division bench of Justices Til Prasad Shres tha and Shanti Singh Thapa gave the order to the detention hearing the writ petition filed by Khadka’s wife Binita Thapa.
Police had arrested Khadka on March 29 in connection with the investigation into the amount recovered from his house.
The Department of Money Laundering Investigation is investigating the money found burning in his house on September 24 during the Gen-G movement.
During the protests, videos of Nepali and foreign and foreign were made public.The department also conducted an investigation by collecting pieces of burnt notes and ashes from his house.
