Kathmandu. The Karnali Province government has decided to give public holiday for six more days in the year 2083. The meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers in Surkhet, Birendranagar on Tuesday decided to give a six-day public holiday in 2083 BS, according to Karnali government spokesperson and Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Binod Kumar Shah.
“The provincial government has decided to give a public holiday on Chaitra 22 (Paddy Day) and October 5 for the festival carrying the lingo of Chandannath temple”, he said. Spokesperson Shah said a public holiday has been declared in nine provinces except Jumla on the occasion of National Paddy Day on June 15.
According to him, there will be a public holiday on the occasion of Saun Sankranti and Deuda festival on July 14, Province Establishment Day and Martyrs Day on August 18 and Kojagrat Purnima on October 22.
Spokesperson Shah said that the meeting also decided to make changes in the Schedule 2 of the State Government (Division of Work) Regulations, 2074 BS and publish the information in the State Gazette.
