With the government’s decision to crack down on illegal import and smuggling of counterfeit goods at the border points, the positive impact of this has been seen in the automobile sector as well. Sipradi Auto Parts, the authorized distributor of TATA Genuine Parts in Nepal, has launched a nationwide awareness campaign to use genuine TATA Parts.

The company has launched this campaign targeting mechanics, drivers and vehicle owners keeping in mind the problem of reducing the life of the vehicle due to the use of inferior and fake parts in the vehicle and also increasing the risk of accidents.

As a part of the campaign, the representatives of SIPRADI Auto Parts are physically visiting various garages, workshops, highway repair centers, and parking lots in the major commercial and border cities of Nepal, especially Dhangadhi, Bhairahawa, Birgunj, and Nepalgunj. The company’s team is bringing together customers and technicians to understand the importance of genuine parts by bringing together customers and technicians with a banner saying ‘Identify genuine parts like this’ and a small pickup van with sample parts.

How to identify genuine Tata parts?

SIPRADI has urged consumers to pay attention to three main things:

1. Packaging and Special Code: The packet of TATA Genuine Parts and TATA Motors Automotive Fluids (Mobil etc.) has a special number code (e. g. 2081295), which is not counterfeit.

2. Country Code: The original packet has a ‘Country Code’ indicating the official distributor of Tata Motors in Nepal.

3. Official Hologram: The official hologram or tag of ‘Sipradi Autoparts’ is mandatorily affixed to the box of parts or fluids. You have to buy it just by looking at it.

Technicians say that while using counterfeit parts may cost a small amount of money in the short term, it can cause serious damage to the engine and other vital parts of the vehicle. “Genuine parts increase the efficiency of the vehicle and ensure the safety of the passengers,” said a company source.

At a time when the government has tightened the border to discourage the trade of counterfeit parts, this campaign started from major cities (Dhangadhi, Bhairahawa, Birgunj and Nepalgunj) is expected to protect consumers from fraud and further improve the auto sector. SIPRADI Auto Parts has requested all its customers to buy genuine Tata Parts only from authorized dealers or SIPRADI networks.
