Kathmandu. From now on, people will have to pay Rs 25 for public transport. With the government increasing the public transport fare,the passengers will have to pay a minimum fare of Rs 25 for the short distance public transport from now on. 

On Wednesday, the government decided to increase the fare of passenger vehicles by up to 16.7 1 percent on Wednesday. 

Earlier, one had to pay a minimum fare of Rs 20 for short-distance public transport .However, with the adjustment in the fare, now the public transport will have to pay a minimum of Rs 25 for . 

The government has increased the fare for the goods vehicles plying in the hilly region by 21.6 8 per cent and 15.75 per cent by 15. 75 per cent for the goods vehicles plying in the Terai region.
