Kathmandu. Around 50 people have applied for the post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). According to sources at the Ministry of Finance, 47 people have applied for the post of chairman of the board so far.
This is the first time that 47 people have applied for the post of chairman of the board.
According to officials of the Ministry of Finance, this number of applications have been received as the chairman will be appointed through open competition. Earlier, 19 people had applied for the post when Santosh Narayan Shrestha was the chairman.
Prior to this, 15 candidates had applied for the post of chairman of the board when Ramesh Hamal was appointed as the chairman of the board. Similarly, only 8 candidates had applied for the post of president when Bhishma Raj Dhungana became the president.
Along with stock market investors, engineers and IT professionals have also applied for the post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). However, the possibility of Shiva Chandra aka Purushottam Raj Chimariya, who has understood the stock market and has been raising his voice with constructive suggestions for market reform at various times, is seen strongly.
Not only the board, the number of applicants applying for appointments in other bodies has also increased this time with the appointment being made through open competition.
