Around Rs 6 billion revenue collected in 10 months

Kathmandu. The Inland Revenue Office, Hetauda, has collected around Rs 6 billion in revenue in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year 2082/83.

Office Chief Yukta Prasad Subedi said that the government has collected Rs 342.12 million more revenue or Rs 5.92 billion as compared to the previous fiscal year 2081/82.

The government collected Rs 3.45 billion as excise duty, Rs 1.02 billion as income tax, Rs 82 crore 71 million 52 thousand as value added tax, Rs 51 crore 92 lakh 59 thousand as health risk tax, Rs 68.37 million as interest tax and Rs 159 lakh 88 thousand as rent tax in the current fiscal year.

According to Subedi, the government has set the target of collecting revenue of Rs 8.44 billion in the current fiscal year.

Subedi said that more than Rs 100 million old dues have been recovered through campaigns like reaching the doorsteps of taxpayers, calling them through telephone and SMS, and publicizing tax exemption facilities.
