Bagmati Chief Minister’s house and office raided on suspicion of hiding illegal assets

Kathmandu. The Department of Money Laundering (DoP) has raided the office and residence of Bagmati Province Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya. The department raided Baniya’s house and office on suspicionof hiding illegal assets. 

According to a source at the department, the raids were carried out at Baniya’s house in Hetauda and Baniya Construction Service in Hetauda.The department has also seized some documents from his house and office. 

Baniya, who is also the president of Nepali Congress Bagmati Province, was associated with a construction company until a few years ago. 

After unnatural activity was found in his property and transactions, an investigation has been initiated against him. According to a source at the department, his house and office were raided.
