Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Gagan Thapa has accused the government of not being serious even though the economy is heading into a coma. Thapa said this while speaking at a program organized on the occasion of Labor Day.
He said that the government’s priorities are in the wrong place even though the country’s economy is about to go into a coma.
He said that there is a lack of confidence among the investors due to the money accumulated in the banks but there is no environment to take loans. “From daily wage earners to big businessmen, are in the grip of the economic downturn. “Kitchen has become expensive but instead of engaging in result-oriented work, the government is focused on publicity-oriented work,” he said. ’
Thapa also accused the government of not being serious about the current economic situation of the country and its trade and diplomatic relations with neighbouring countries.
Speaking in the diplomatic context, Thapa said that Nepali entrepreneurs have been hit hard due to the tax imposed by India on Nepali tea and the obstruction seen at the border point with China.He stressed that Nepal should put forth its clear and unified position in the discussion between India and China regarding the route to Mansarovar via Lipulekh.
