Investigation begins against 8 brokers for tampering with investor details security

Kathmandu. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) has started investigation on 8 securities brokers (broker). NEPSE has started investigation on 8 broker companies on suspicion of violating the direct ive on data protection and trading system .

The brokers investigated by Nepse include Market Securities (Broker Number 5), Brilliant Securities (Broker Number 8), Sagarmatha Securities (Broker Number 18) and Trishul Securities (Broker number 29).

, Nepsle Creative Securities (Broker Number 40), Niv Securities (Broker Number 47), Oxford Securities (Broker Number 51) and Eyewitness Securities {{TAG_OPEN_span_ 16}(Broker number 55) is also being investigated. 

Nepse has also directed these brokers to provide details related to data store, database management system and client information security.These companies are suspected to have used common database and system. The use of the same database may pose a risk to the security of investors’ personal details, transaction information and financial data

Nepse, which is currently investigating , has said that action will be taken if the broker companies are found to have violated the Securities Trading Operation Bylaws, 2075 (Third Amendment 2079)’.
