Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The government has announced the information technology sector as the national strategic industry and will promote ‘software’ and ‘digital’ services. President Ram Chandra Poudel presented the policy and programmes for the fiscal year 2083/084 BS in a joint session of the federal parliament on Sunday.
He said the government will promote cybersecurity, green computing and AI computing exports.
President Poudel said that Nepal would be promoted as a ‘tech hub’ by developing digital parks, high capacity data centers and public digital infrastructures. “Financial concessions, investment facilitation, government co-investment and tax incentives will be provided to the IT export industry on the basis of innovation expenditure,” he said.
