Kathmandu. The National Planning Commission (NP C) has directed the Kathmandu-Tarai-Madhes ( fast track to be operated by 2085. The NHRC has directed the Nepal Army to operate at least a 2-lane road as there is uncertainty over the completion of the project within the stipulated time.
The Nepal Army has been entrusted with the responsibility of constructing the project.However, the construction of the fast track has not been completed even after the deadline was extended for the second time.
The commission has directed the government to complete the construction of at least two lanes (right or left) as the situation is still not seen to be complete within the stipulated time.
The deadline extended for the second time is expiring by mid-April 2008. However, the government is preparing to extend the deadline for the third time for three more years.
On May 4, 2017, the Army was awarded the contract for the construction of the Kathmandu-Tarai-Madhesh Fast Track.The deadline for the construction of the fast-track was extended for the second time till mid-April 2083.
