Kathmandu. The government has decided to consider labor exploitation as an economic crime. Presenting the budget for the coming fiscal year, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has considered labor exploitation as an economic crime.
With this, violations of labor agreements, wage fraud and labor exploitation will be brought under the legal purview of economic crimes.
Presenting the budget today, Finance Minister Wagle announced that written agreement in the labour sector, minimum wage, insurance, workplacesafety standards and payment of wages through banks will be made mandatory.
The Finance Minister also said that the system of compulsory compensation and insurance claims for workplace accidents will be made more effective.On the other hand, Finance Minister Wagle has also announced that the labour dispute will be resolved through the Labor Tribunal by the end of Poush.
