Kathmandu. A youth has been arrested for buying fake currency notes by buying clothes. Police have arrested a 19-year-old man from a shop in Lagankhel of Lalitpur for allegedly selling counterfeit currency notes.
According to the police, the shopkeeper informed the police after was suspicious in the note given by him after buying clothes.
A team from the District Police Range, Lalitpur, reached Lagankhel immediately after receiving information that fake currency was being transacted and arrested the youth.Police confiscated 16 counterfeit notes of Rs 500 denomination from the youth.
According to the police, all the notes have the same number.He was arrested on the charge of dealing in counterfeit currency, police said. In his statement to the police, the young man said that the note had been given to him by someone else. At present, the police have also started investigating of his friends.
