Kathmandu. More than 107,000 tourists have visited Nepal in April 2026. According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) data released on Monday, 107,934 foreign tourists arrived in Nepal in April, 2026.

According to the Board’s statistics, the highest number of 33,432 tourists have visited Nepal from South Asia (SAARC). This is 31 percent of the total arrivals. After that, 26,726 tourists from South Asia came from Asian countries. 21,988 tourists from Europe, 5,898 from Oceania, 2,518 from America, 1,697 from West Asia, 315 African countries and 15,360 tourists from other countries have visited the country.

Domestically, China is the second largest source market after India, while tourist arrivals from other Asian countries, Europe and the United States are also on the rise. This indicates that Nepal’s tourism market is expanding from single dependency to multi-source. The highest number of tourists visiting Nepal is 15,196 followed by 11,722 from China and 5,231 from Bangladesh. A total of 116,490 tourists had visited Nepal in April 2025 while 109,399 tourists had arrived in April 2019 before the coronavirus pandemic.

The escalating conflict in West Asia has disrupted air access and affected international promotions, among others, which have affected tourist arrivals in April. In order to increase the number of tourists in Nepal, there is a need for digital marketing, and more plans, programs and strategies to present Nepal as a safe and attractive destination.
