Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) takes Rs 55 billion loan to buy aircraft

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has borrowed Rs 55.04 billion from Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) for the purchase of aircraft.

According to the 63rd annual report of the Auditor General, the amount has to be paid.

The corporation had taken loan worth Rs 22 billion from the Employees Provident Fund on June 18, 2013 and June 11, 2017 to purchase A-320 and A-330 aircraft. Similarly, it had taken a loan of Rs 12 billion from the Citizen Investment Fund.

Of the total unpaid, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has Rs 31.33 billion and the Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) has Rs 21.12 billion.
