Kathmandu. Nepali Congress district vice-president has been arrested. Nepali Congress Dolpa vice-president Purna Bahadur Shahi has been arrested. 

According to the District Police Office, Dolpa, Shahi was arrested from Tripurakot Bagar Bazaar of Tripurasundari Municipality.He has been arrested on the charge of banking offences. 

According to the police, the Patan High Court on October 23, 2022 had sentenced Shahi to one day in jail and a fine of Rs 25 0,000 on the charge of banking.However, he was absconding after the court’s decision. 

Shahi, who was absconding in the case of banking, was finally arrested and handed over to the District Court for necessary action, police said. 

Banking of Rs. 10 lakhs has been filed against him at the District Court, Dolpa.
