Siddhartha Bank has given a loan of Rs 50 lakh for forged signatures, 2 arrested

Kathmandu. It has been revealed that Siddhartha Bank has given a loan of Rs 50 lakh on the basis of forged signatures. It has been revealed that the bank had provided a loan of Rs 50 lakh from the bank’s Talchowk branch in Pokhara on the basis of forged signatures.

It has been revealed that the bank had forged the loan in the name of Mohan Bahadur Shahi of Pokhara Metropolis-30, Dhungepatan.

Police have arrested Wanti Shahi, wife of Mohan Bahadur, on the charge of taking a loan of Rs 50 lakh. A police team deputed from the Area Police Office, Shishuwa arrested him.

According to police, Wanti Shahi had taken a loan of Rs 50 lakh from Talchowk branch of Siddhartha Bank in collusion with Bhadra Thapa of Surkhet.

Police have arrested Bhadra Thapa of Surkhet along with Banti, wife of Mohan Bahadur Shahi. The District Court has remanded the two to 5-day custody for further investigation.

Both of them are being investigated for fraud, criminal breach of trust and criminal gain, police said. On the other hand, it is suspected that the bank’s employees were also involved in the loan disbursement on the basis of forged signatures. Police are also investigating the matter. We also called the branch manager of Siddhartha Bank’s Talchowk branch and the information officer of the bank to know about the matter, but their calls did not go unanswered.
