Sipradian Aid hands over rescue equipment to Sunsari police to strengthen disaster preparedness

Kathmandu. Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha has handed over various rescue materials to the District Police Office, Sunsari to make the disaster preparedness and rescue work more effective. The organization handed over rescue boat, life jacket, paddle, helmet and petrol-operated chain-saw to the Sunsari Police amidst a programme held at the premises of the District Police Office, Sunsari.

Police said the equipment collected from the organization would be used for rescue and search during flood, inundation, storm and other natural disasters.

The program was presided over by Sunsari Police Chief SP Keshav Kumar Thebe and member of the House of Representatives, Deepak Kumar Sah was the chief guest. Similarly, representatives of Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha, Tulasi Jung Basnet, Rajat Shrestha and Bimal Gautam were also present in the program.

Speaking at the program, Chief Guest Deepak Kumar Sah said that adequate availability of rescue materials and preparedness are very important in a country like Nepal which is prone to disasters. He expressed his confidence that such assistance would enhance the rescue capacity of police and help in providing speedy, safe and effective service to the citizens during the time of disaster.

Likewise, Sunsari Police Chief SP Keshav Kumar Thebe said that shortage of essential materials is a challenge during the time of disaster. He expressed the belief that the equipment received would play a crucial role in making the disaster rescue and search works further effective in the district.

Sipradian Sahayata Sanstha has been conducting various cooperative programs in the fields of education, health, disaster management and social service and will continue its campaign for disaster management, rescue and public awareness in the days ahead.
