Kathmandu. The first look video of the dark comedy movie ‘Zero Degree’, produced under the banner of Meghauli Films, has been released. The release date of the film has been fixed on Tihar this year. The public content has piqued the curiosity of the audience towards the film, in which actor Vijay Baral is presented in a very different and interesting avatar of the ward chairman named ‘Punya Chaulagain’.

In the first look video, the dialogue ‘Where there is a problem, there is a punya Chaulagain’ and immediately after the dialogue of Punya ‘who else is there in this village and my own’ makes it clear that he is a clever and clever public representative of the village. Dressed in a thick moustache, spectacles, Dhaka cap and suit, one of the scenes of Vijay Baral is very symbolic and satirical. Sitting in front of the nameplate that reads ‘Punya Chaulagain Ward Chairman’, he is receiving money (transacting), but ironically, the board pasted on the wall behind him reads in big letters ‘Stop corruption!’.

This indicates that the film is a strong satire on the reality of Nepali politics and the dual character of the leaders through dark comedy. Apart from this, the scene of ward chairman Punya Chaulagain riding a white horse with two stand fans in his hand and villagers carrying a large wooden box on a hilly road has made the depth of the story more mysterious.

The story of the film centers on the turmoil and fun situations that occur in a remote village with no road network, after the death of the parents, and the children who are abroad carry a ‘deep freeze’ to save the dead bodies until the return of the children. In the video, it can be easily guessed that the same ‘deep fridge’ is inside the wooden box carried by the villagers. The screenplay is jointly directed by Sajan Kafle and Aakash Baral, who produced and directed the movie ‘Bride from Meghauli’.

The movie has been shot in Dhital Gaun, Armalakot, Gharmi and Bagar settlements of Kaski. The movie also features Prakash Ghimire, Rajan Bhusal, Sanisha Bhattarai, Basundhara Bhusal, Ramesh Budhathoki, Lokendra Lekhak and Sanjog Rasaili. The cinematographer of the movie is Nishal Poudel, edited by Chanas Pun Magar, color coordination by Rajendra Moktan and music by Ankit Babu Adhikari. The film will be distributed by Kuber Cine Distribution outside the Kathmandu Valley and distributed by DCN in the valley.
