“The government can’t revoke trade union rights,” says President of Trade Union Congress

Kathmandu. Nepal Trade Union Congress (NTUC) President Yogendra Kunwar has said that the government cannot scrap the rights of trade unions. Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the 137th International Workers’ Day, President Kunwar said this. 

He has argued that the government cannot suppress this right brought by the workers from all over the world.

Kunwar has argued that even if the government has said will revoke the trade union rights by mislead ing, it cannot be implemented.Kunwar has warned that if the government tries to scrap it , they will raise the government in the International Court of Justice. 

He also drew the attention of the government to form a National Labour Commission.Chairman Kunwar acknowledged the various questions raised on the trade union movement and expressed his commitment to move forward to answer them.
