Traffic police take action against 2,293 drivers in 24 hours

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Traffic Police have taken action against 2,293 drivers in course of checking of vehicles in different parts of Kathmandu Valley in the last 24 hours.

A total of 2,293 drivers were taken for driving under the influence of alcohol, 184 for ride-sharing, 157 for red light, 124 for speeding, 219 for lane cross, 123 for road and footpath, 73 for prohibiting horn, 105 for one-way traffic and 1,195 for others, said Spokesperson of the Kathmandu Traffic Police Naresh Raj Subedi.

“In the last 24 hours, action has been taken against 2,293 drivers for breaching traffic rules in the Kathmandu Valley,” he said. A total of Rs 24,26,000 has been deposited in revenue from the action. ‘

The traffic police have urged the passengers to immediately inform the nearest police office, traffic control room hotline no 103 and police hotline no 100 if suspecting that the driver has been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
