Two arrested for cheating people of Rs 26 lakh on the pretext of sending them to Greece and UAE

Kathmandu. Police have arrested two persons on the charge of swindling Rs 26 million on the pretext of sending them to Greece and UAE for foreign employment.

The arrestees have been identified as Madhusudan Parajuli, 52, of Bhullu municipality-1 in Kavrepalanchowk and Prakash Bastola, 32, of Kushma municipality-2, Parbat, according to Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Karki.

“Among them, Madhusudan Parajuli was arrested acting on the complaint of 23 lakhs on the pretext of sending him to Greece and Prakash Bastola taking Rs 300,000 in the name of sending him to UAE and went out of contact,” he said. ‘

Spokesperson Karki said that both of them were arrested from different places of the Kathmandu Valley and sent to the Department of Foreign Employment Tahachal for further investigation and necessary action.

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has urged the general public to remain aware of the increasing cases of fraud in the name of foreign employment of late. It has also urged the public to immediately lodge a complaint with the police or the concerned body if any person or institution is suspected of being cheated.
