19.16 trillion remittances received in 10 months

Kathmandu. In the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, Nepalese who went abroad have sent remittances worth Rs 1.916 trillion. The remittance inflow has increased by 41.2 per cent in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, according to the NRB.

The remittance inflow had grown by 13.3 per cent in the same period of the previous year. The remittance inflow in the last April was Rs 257.49 billion. The remittance inflow in the same month of the previous year had amounted to Rs. 165.30 billion.

The remittance inflow in US Dollars increased by 33 per cent and reached to Rs 13.26 billion in the review period. The remittance inflow had grown by 9.6 per cent the year before that.

In April alone, Rs 2.57 trillion has been remitted to Nepal. The remittances for the month of April are the highest ever on a monthly basis.
