Couple arrested for cheating people on the pretext of taking them to the US

Kathmandu. Are you tempted to get married and take it to the United States? Keep in mind that such incidents are happening in Nepal right now. It has been requested to take special precautions to avoid such frauds.

A similar incident has come to light in Kathmandu recently. Prince Tamang, who said he could not speak Nepali in the United States, was cheated on the promise of taking the victim to the United States of America after talking to him without showing his face.

According to the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police, she was found to have swindled more than Rs 15 lakh by repeatedly asking Sargam Tamang to talk to her on WhatsApp.

Spokesperson of the Bureau, Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Giri said that Sanjeev Nepali aka Prince Tamang and Sarita Parajuli alias Anushka were also involved in the fraud through conversations with his sister Sargam Tamang.

A police team deputed from the Bureau arrested Nepali and Parajuli from Syangja and currently living in Machhapokhari of Kathmandu on Tuesday and presented them before the Kathmandu District Court on Wednesday on the charge of fraud related to electronic media.

The court on June 17 had remanded them in custody for five days for further investigation. He also urged the people to take necessary precautions to avoid fraud as such incidents are happening.
