Kathmandu. From now on, the bank account will be frozen on the basis of the verbal order of the investigating officer. This provision has been amended by amending the ‘Integrated Directive, 2082’ issued by Nepal Rastra Bank and financial institutions.

With the implementation of this provision, suspicious bank related to financial crimes may be frozen for a short period on the basis of an oral order of the investigating officer. 

The licensed entity shall make necessary arrangements to work 2 4 hours and seven days a day to investigate any crime or withhold the law enforcement authority for an oral/written period in order to coordinate necessary for the reduction of financial crimes.

Similarly, the Rastra bank should maintain a dedicated number contact on its website for this purpose. 

Similarly, if the investigating or law enforcement agency requests any account of } from the bank, the Rastra Bank has also directed Bank to provide it directly and as soon as possible.
