Kathmandu. The Rupandehi police have seized various customs duty evading goods from a businessman’s godown in Bhairahawa of Rupandehi district. Acting on information that the goods were concealed, the police raided and confiscated the goods.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of District Police Office, Rupandehi, Krishna Kumar Chand, said that the police confiscated goods worth Rs 4.132 million from a businessman’s godown at Belhiya of Siddharthanagar Municipality-1.
Police confiscated 53 sacks of watermelon seeds worth Rs 2.332 lakh, 44 cartons of Colgate worth Rs 570,240, 227 sacks of walnut worth Rs 1.135 lakh and 38 sacks of maize worth Rs 95,000.
The seized goods have been sent to Bhairahawa Customs Office for necessary action.
