Kathmandu. Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has complained that the budget for the Ministry of Home Affairs is insufficient. Speaking at a meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, Home Minister Gurung said this while addressing a meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.
He stressed the need to increase the budget for effective performance. Home Minister Gurung has said that the Ministry lacks resources to carry out works on serious issues like maintaining good governance, disastermanagement and drug control.
Minister Gurung said that although he had worked hard to bring Rs 2 0 billion more than the ceiling of the budget, it was still not enough. Speaking on the disaster management, Minister Gurung said the procurement of rescue materials has been delayed due to the cumbersome provisions of the Public Procurement Act.
He has urged the lawmakers to support the amendment of the Act saying that the monsoon will be completed after completing the 45-day process to purchase the heavy capacity drones. He said that learning from the past disaster incidents, the Ministry now plans to adopt restrictive methods and go out on its own monitoring.
He also said that the methods adopted so far to control the drug are not effective and a new reform plan should be introduced. He said that preparations are being made to close the source of the source by conducting a joint operation in coordination with the Indian Security Force (SSB) to control the smuggling of drugs from the borderpoints.
Pointing out that there is a risk of creating curiosity among children by providing information about drugs in school textbooks, Minister Gurung said serious homework should be done on this issue. He said that all should move ahead together in the running of the state and not in favor of the opposition and expressed commitment to implement the constructive suggestions given by the lawmakers.
