Kathmandu. The Special Court has ordered the release of five accused in the electronic passport scam on bail. A three-member bench of Special Court Justices Narayan Prasad Poudel, Hemanta Rawal and Umesh Koirala issued the order today, said Krishna Sharan Lamichhane, Sub-Registrar and Spokesperson of the Special Court.

Director General of the Department of Passports Tirtha Raj Aryal, Rs 400,000 from Director General Sunil Kumar KC and Rs 300,000 from employees Somesh Thapa and Bipin Prasain.

Lamichhane said that he has demanded a bail of five lakh rupees from Manindra Raj Malla, the Nepal representative of the German company. Lamichhane said that the court has ordered the release of Rajaram Dahal and Tulsi Prasad Acharya on general date.
