Supreme Court stays selection of board of directors of Nepal Airlines Corporation

Artha Sarokar

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has stayed the selection process for the board of directors of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).

A division bench of Justices Kumar Regmi and Shrikanta Poudel issued the order on Tuesday after hearing the writ petition filed by Upendra Bahadur Karki.

In this way, the government was preparing to elect the members and chairman of the corporation through competition by soliciting applications. However, Karki had filed a writ petition claiming that he was unjustly excluded from the selection of the committee through competition.

Hearing the writ petition, the Supreme Court has ordered the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and the NAC selection committee to stop the process immediately.
