Traffic violators rise in Kathmandu, 2.2 million revenue collected in 24 hours

Kathmandu. In the last 24 hours, 2,556 drivers have been found violating traffic rules in Kathmandu. According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Rs 22.39 million has been deposited in revenue from this amount.

The action was taken against 106 for drunken driving, 154 for ride-sharing, 107 for breaching signal lights and 183 for speeding, according to Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi.

A total of 2,556 people were taken action including 97 for flouting lane discipline, 109 for blowing horn in prohibited areas, 98 for parking vehicles on the pavement, 30 for not following the mechanical condition and 1,672 for not following other traffic rules.
