Ward office padlocked after ‘removal of encroachment on government land’

Kathmandu. The office of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Ward No. 18 has been padlocked . Locals have padlocked the ward office after the Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan Municipality issued a notice stating ‘to remove encroachment on government land’

The sub-metropolis issued a notice on June 2 (Monday) issued an ultimatum to remove the structures built by encroaching on plot numbers 101, 102, 103 and 553 within seven days. 

Locals have been agitated after Greenbelt, Village Development Committee Office and Chandrod aya issued notices to remove the structures built by encroaching on the land of the Secondary School

They have said that it is wrong to cut a letter saying ‘ ‘Removal of encroachments’ when they have received a temporary certificate from the municipality.

The agitating locals have demanded the withdrawal of the decision of the sub-metropolis saying 110 households will be homeless and hundreds will be displaced {{{} if the municipality’s letter is implemented. Otherwise, the agitators have warned .

Meanwhile, Chairman of Ward No. 18 Bhuvan Rijal said that he is in favor of the citizens and will coordinate in this regard.He has also pledged to work to ensure that the residents of the ward do not become homeless.
