11-month average inflation of 2.89 percent, fruits, ghee and oil costlied, pulses and legumes cheaper!

Kathmandu. The average inflation for the end of June of the current fiscal year 2082/83 has been 2.89. According to the ‘Current Economic and Financial Situation of the Country Report, based on the data of 11 months released by the Nepal Rastra Bank {{}, the annual consumer inflation was 5.22 percent. It was 2.7 2 percent in the corresponding month of the previous year.

According to the central bank’s , the inflation of food and beverages group was 4.95 while the inflation of non-food and service group was 5.37 percent.

Food & Beverages under group Fruits sub-group annual Consumer Price Index 17.40 and 15.10 of Ghee and Oil, Fish and meat increased by 5.26 percent and vegetables by 4.14 percent and vegetables by 4.1 4 percent. The Consumer Price Index of Pulses andLegumes decreased by 0.93 per cent in the review period.

Non-food and services under Miscellaneous goods and services subgroup annual Consumer Price Index 16.68 percent, 15.31 percent, Alcoholic beverages (7.20, education ( (5.54 percent) and clothing and footwear (5.5.53 respectively.

Similarly, in May, the annual Consumer Price Index of in the rural areas increased by 4.78 percent and the annual consumer price index of the urban areas by 5.38 according to the report of the Bank of Nepal

Regionally, Koshi Province’s annual point-wise consumer inflation 5.75, Madhes Province 5.62, Bagmati Province 4.79, Gandaki Province 5.05, Lumbini Province’s 5.62 percent, Karnali Province 4.89 and Sudurpaschim Province 4.61 percent percent.

Similarly, in the month of May, the annual point of consumer inflation in the Kathmandu Valley 4.98 percent, Terai 5.74 percent, 5.07 percent of the hills and 3.71 percent of the country percent {{TAG_CLOSE_span_12} said.
