Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has closed down all health services except emergency (emergency) on Wednesday. The association has continued its agitation for the second day today, accusing the government of being indifferent to taking legal action against the perpetrators of the attack on doctors and health workers working at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj.

OPD, routine health check-ups, surgeries and other non-emergency services have been affected in hospitals across the country due to the agitation of the union. However, emergency services have been restored.

The number of patients in major government hospitals in Kathmandu has increased significantly.There is a huge influx of patients, especially at Teaching Hospital and Bir Hospital. Many patients have been forced to return home in despair due to the closure of regular services, while some have gone in search of emergency services or alternative hospitals.

Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has warned that the protest will be intensified until the perpetrators are brought to book immediately and the safety of health workers is ensured.

On the other hand, patients and the general public have demanded that the government address the genuine demands of the doctors and make health services accessible at the earliest, saying they are facing difficulties in providing treatment to the health services.View the rest of the image:
