Kathmandu. Devotees have thronged the temples of Lord Shiva across the country, including Pashupatinath, since early morning on the firstMonday of this year’s Shrawan. All the four gates of the temple were opened since 3: 00 am today, said Tirtha Shrestha, member-secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT).He said that the devotees have come to the temple since early morning to pay obeisance without even caring about the rain.

Arrangements have been made for easy, safe and systematic darshan and special worship arrangements for the devotees visiting the Pashupatinath temple. He also admitted that the appointment of office-bearers was delayed and the fund could not work as per the requirement due to lack of human resources.

All the office-bearers and employees of the PADT, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army, Traffic Police, Kathmandu Metropolitan Police and various religious and social organizations will also be involved in making the temple management more effective, safe and systematic.

PADT member-secretary Shrestha said arrangements have been made to provide worship to hundreds of thousands of devotees visiting the Pashupatinath temple in an easy, safe, dignified and well-managed environment. The four doors of the temple which opened from 3: 00 am to 3:00 am will be opened for the devotees till and 8:00 in the evening.The special puja will take place from 8:30 am to to 12:00 noon .

There are four queues to enter the temple. Although the devotees came in the morning, the queue was not long, according to the PADT. All necessary arrangements have been made for primary treatment and other necessary services for the devotees at the Pashupatinath area.

Devotees have also queued up at Gokarneshwor, Nageshwor, Doleshwor, Makhan Mahadev also known as the small Pashupatinath of Basantapur Durbar Square, and all the big and small temples in the capital as well as at Gokarneshwor, Nageshwor, Doleshwor and Makhan Mahadev in the Basantapur Durbar area.
