Kathmandu. Three commercial banks, including two government-owned banks, have been taken to task by the Nepal Rastra Bank. The Department of Bank Supervision (DOBS) has made public the action taken against chairpersons, directors and CEOs of banks and financial institutions in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2082/83.

Those facing action are Banijya Bank Limited, Agriculture Development Bank Limited and Prabhu Bank.

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) has flouted the directives of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) by violating the provisions of the Bank Account Freeze and Release Bylaws, 2081 BS.

Similarly, the Agriculture Development Bank has been warned to follow the directives as per the Bylaws on Freezing and Releasing Bank Accounts, 2081.

The meeting also directed the Board of Directors of Prabhu Bank to prepare a reform plan for not rectifying the serious weaknesses found in the field inspection report, not maintaining loan classification and loan loss provisions and violating the directives of the Nepal Rastra Bank time and again.
