Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has issued a consultation paper for the first time, preparing to start short selling and margin lending in the stock market!

Kathmandu. The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) is preparing to launch Short Selling and Margin Lending in the stock market. The board has given this information by releasing the ‘Consultancy Paper’ for the first time. 

The Board has published a detailed concept paper (Consultation {{} Paper) regarding the introduction of Securities Financial Services in the capital market. 

The said Consultation Paper Margin Lending, Security Lending and Borrowing (Securities Borrowings and Borrowings and Shirts According to the Board, the sale has been made public for the purpose of operating the sale and to take the opinions/suggestions of the stakeholders

Similarly, the move is to implement the government’s announcement in the budget statement for the financial year 2083/84 to introduce intraday trading, short selling and derivatives in a phased manner. ।

The Board believes that services such as margin trading, securities lending and shorts and {{} will make the stock market more deep, competitive and efficient. The board believes that these instruments would be a milestone to make Nepal’s capital market of international standard and expand investors’ participation.
