Kathmandu. The number of people who want to go abroad is increasing due to the search for possibilities and lack of opportunities in the country. However, citizens have to face a lot of difficulty even in getting a passport as the first step to go abroad.

The number of service seekers has increased significantly at the Passport Department in Tripureshwor. Youths who want to go abroad for higher education and employment are compelled to stand in queue all day to get passports.

The number of passport applicants is also high in the district. Although the department claims that up to 1500 passports will be printed daily, the crowd has not decreased.

The Department of Passports is under a lot of pressure as the number of people applying for the Employment Permit System (EPS) in South Korea is increasing. The Department has started the e-passport service in two shifts from Thursday as the number of service seekers has increased.

The first shift will be from 7 am to 2 pm and the second shift will be from 2 pm to 9 pm. The service will be available in two shifts until August 22.
