Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Auditors Association (ADAAN) organized on the occasion of its 21st Foundation Day. The week-long event included interactions, seminars, seminars and various social responsibility programs focusing on financial governance, strengthening the auditing profession, artificial intelligence, current economic and tax issues.

On the same occasion, three technical sessions were conducted under the first phase while the second phase was held as an inauguration and formal ceremony.

The event was graced by the chief guest of the program Hon’ble Auditor General Toyam Raya and special guest of the event was Hon’ble Narendra Kumar Kerung, Member of the House of Representatives. Similarly, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) Ananda Raj Sharma Wagle, Chairman of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, Chairman of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) Birendra Raj Pandey, Vice President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Naresh Lal Shrestha and Director General of Inland Revenue Department Dr. Pramod Sawant were also present on the occasion. The event was attended by Mr. Bhishma Raj Bhusal, Vice President of SAFA, Mr. Prabin Kumar Jha, Vice President of Asian Ocean Standard Setters Group, Mr. Prakash Jung Thapa, Chairman of Nepal Accounting Board Mr. Ramesh Kumar Dhital, Chairman of ACAN Mr. Anup Nepal, Former President of Adan Mr. Kedar Nath Poudel, Past President Mr. Mohan Raj Regmi, Founder President Mr. Kamal Kharel, Mr. Kamal Kharel, Vice-President of Adan and other distinguished personalities of Adan.

The program was chaired by ADAN Chairman Badri Prasad Bhattarai and hosted by Tilak Bahadur Adhikari, General Secretary and attended by around 800 registered auditors, Chartered Accountants, Professional Accountants, Corporate representatives and other stakeholders from all over the country.

Three technical working papers on ‘Artificial Intelligence in Business Accounting and Auditing: Opportunities, Challenges and Future’, ‘Social Security Fund: Effective Implementation, Benefits and Opportunities’ and ‘Nepal’s Income Tax Act and Tax System: Current Problems, Challenges and Strategies for Reform’ were presented during the program. Experts, representatives of regulatory bodies and office-bearers of business organizations commented and interacted on the papers to make the topic more practical and contemporary.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, ADAN President Badri Prasad Bhattarai highlighted the role of Adan in the development of the auditing profession, capacity building of registered auditors, protection of professional rights and promotion of financial good governance. “We will continue to stand firm for capacity building, technology-friendly auditing, and institutional strengthening as per the changing business environment,” he added.

On the occasion, Auditor General’s Honorable Toyam Raya said that the Office of the Auditor General was always positive to improve the quality of the auditing sector and was ready to collaborate on necessary policy reforms and legal amendments in the days ahead. He was of the view that production of skilled human resources, effective use of technology and business capacity enhancement should be given special priority as per the need of the hour.

Member of the House of Representatives, Narendra Kumar Kerung, said that a long-term strategy was needed to produce skilled registered auditors who can serve especially in rural and remote areas, keeping in mind the generational change in the auditing sector in the coming decade. On the occasion, ICAN President Ananda Raj Sharma Wagle appreciated the role played by Adan in the development of the accountancy profession and expressed his commitment to further consolidate the collaboration between the two organizations.

On the occasion, Adan’s life member and former district president Narendra Kumar Kerung, newly elected president of ICAN Ananda Raj Sharma Wagle, vice-chairman Hem Kumar Kafle and chairman of Nepal Accounting Board Ramesh Kumar Dhital were felicitated and wished for a successful tenure.

A total of 53 people donated blood in a blood donation program organized by Adan Valley Province on the occasion of its establishment day. In addition, the 21st Adan Day was celebrated with enthusiasm throughout the country by organizing interactions, futsal competition, seminars, tree plantation, food and fruit distribution in old age homes, assistance to helpless people and other social responsibility programs.

At the end of the program, Senior Vice President of Adan and Coordinator of the 21st Adan Day Main Organizing Committee, Dr. Dol Prasad Dahal proposed the vote of thanks. After this, the chief guest, distinguished guests and office-bearers of the organization jointly cut the cake and exchanged greetings on the occasion of the establishment day.
