Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, president of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), has issued a public appeal today, urging the traders to be restrained and responsible as the supply system has been affected due to natural disasters. He urged the government to ease and manage the market in view of the upcoming festivals as the import, export and supply system has been disrupted especially the northern Rasuwagadhi border point.

In the difficult situation of disaster, the entrepreneurs should rise above their profit and fulfill their social responsibility, the government should rise above their control and facilitate and consumers should exercise restraint by being free from unnecessary hoarding and fear.

The ministry urged the government to maintain regular supply of essential goods, not to create artificial shortage and price hike as demand will increase in the market as the upcoming major festivals like Teej, Dashain, Tihar, Chhath, Nepal Sambat and Ramadan are approaching.

Urging industrialists, entrepreneurs, importers, distributors, wholesalers and retailers to operate their business activities responsibly, the chamber stressed the need for the use of alternative supply routes, adequate storage and management of effective distribution system.
