Kathmandu. The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has seized more than one hundred suspicious counterfeit products. The monitoring team of the Department seized daily consumables including massage oil, shampoo, tea, food supplements and other items being sold through online platforms and social sites.
The Department has stated that tests are being carried out regarding the quality and originality of these products and whether they are fit to be consumed.
Director General of the Department, Motiram Sapkota, said that the department was active to ensure the health and rights of consumers.
According to him, necessary legal process will be initiated against the related products on the basis of the test report. The department has urged the public to inform if they see suspicious or fake products in the market.
